Inside specialized CargoBeamer-Terminals, semi-trailers are loaded on freight trains fully automatically, significantly reducing loading times and creating highly efficient terminal processes.<\/p>\n<p>The presentation will introduce the system using the example of the\u00a0<strong>CargoBeamer-Terminal in Calais<\/strong>, France. It will highlight the potential of CargoBeamer solution to\u00a0<strong>boost the much-needed shift from road to rail\u00a0<\/strong>across Europe. With this solution, CargoBeamer is the winner of the\u00a0<strong>ERCI Innovation Award 2024<\/strong>\u00a0in the \u2018Best SME\u2019 category.<\/p>\n<p>The second presentation will introduce the results of the\u00a0<strong>UrbFRail<\/strong>\u00a0project: the\u00a0<strong>UrbFRail Screening Tool<\/strong>, the\u00a0<strong>UrbFRail Development Tool<\/strong>\u00a0and the\u00a0<strong>Learning Platform<\/strong>\u00a0and show how different actors can benefit from them. The project forces to\u00a0<strong>bring rail freight back to the city<\/strong>, to\u00a0<strong>shift more goods to rail\u00a0<\/strong>and to\u00a0<strong>shorten the last mile<\/strong>\u00a0by enabling spatial and transport planners to\u00a0<strong>create and revitalise urban freight rail hubs<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>UrbFRail is an EU-funded\u00a0<strong>Interreg<\/strong>\u00a0project in the\u00a0<strong>Baltic Sea region<\/strong>.
